WALHT: We are learning to make predictions using visual cues and our prior knowledge on the topic or title and by reading the text.

  1. I predict that the story is about a haka group.
  2. It is a dance group.
  3. It is a maori group.

  1. Feet:it’s a body part that helps you walk
  2. Crowd:a punch of people.
  3. Heart:something in you that helps you to breathe.
  4. Scared:when you get frightened.
  5. Parents: your mum and your dad.
  6. funny :something that makes you laugh.
  7. Breathe:when you suck in oxygen.
  8. Pukana: when someone's got a horrid face on.
  9. Loving:when you like something.
  10. Eyes:something in your face that helps you see.





  1. My question and answers:
  1. Why was the boy not feeling ok? Because he had Heart valve disease when he was born.
  2. Why was the boy breathe hard? Because he was not feeling well.
  3. Why did he have Heart valve disease? Because he was born with it.




  1. Summary:

  1. There was a boy named Te Ata who had Heart valve disease when he was born.Then when he was doing a dance with his friends he was breathing hard and then when it finished he got sent to the doctors and the doctors said that he had Heart valve disease.
