Mission to Jupiter
On the 21st of September 2003 a NASA spacecraft
called Galileo was sent into Jupiter's atmosphere.
It was the end of an adventure that went on for 14 years.
Throughout this 14 year adventure they discovered a
spectacular achievement.

Galileo was the first of a new lifetime of unmanned space
missions. The spacecraft was launched into space on the
year 1989 and launched smoothly.

Soon later things began to go wrong. The high-gain antenna
failed to send feedback back to Earth but the scientists did
not give up and worked hard till it was back up and running.

Before the end of its mission, Galileo met up with another
spacecraft that was on its way to Saturn for a few months and
the two spacecrafts worked together to gather images of jupiter
and its moons.
